The Pentwater Lake Improvement Board was established under Part 309 (Inland Lake Improvements) of Michigan’s Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act. A demonstration project using DASH (diver-assisted suction harvesting) will soon be implemented in Pentwater Lake. DASH work will focus on removing the invasive plant starry stonewort from the lake. In addition, a small infestation of another exotic, invasive plant Cabomba was recently detected in Pentwater Lake. On September 11, 2018, the lake was treated to control the spread of the plant.
